Halloween was last night! Aurelia loves her candy. At one point, she stormed a retaining wall (instead of taking the more convenient stairs) to get to her treats. At another point, she took to shaking door handles and screaming "treat! i want my candy." So, yes, we're very proud of the manners we've obviously neglected to instill . . .

We're getting ready for AV's birthday! The big 4!

I've been getting questions about gifts. For holiday & Bday gifts, please keep in mind that we live in 1800 sq ft. :) Aurelia is very "into" dogs, the Princess & the Frog and I Can Read books on CD.

Also, were getting ready for (hopefully) adding No. 2 to our family this year. We're going through all our toys to make sure that our toys reflect how our family will look (that is, half the girls in the house are white & half are black). We're currently donating toys that don't reflect our family. A good rule of thumb: if there is a scene/toy with multiple figures and none of them are black, there's virtually no chance that we'll keep the toy/puzzle, etc. :)

Aurelia and Diana were at Disneyland a few weeks ago. On the way home, Diana stopped at In & Out for a burger and asked Aurelia if she wanted a milk shake. Aurelia said "No that would melt me." Her response made Diana realize that Aurelia didn't know what a milk shake was and said "a milk shake is milk mixed with ice cream. Would you like that?" "Yes."

Aurelia silently sucked her strawberry milkshake for the rest of the car ride. When they got home, Aurelia ran straight to David and said "look! Mama calls this a 'milkshake'."

Too funny.

Aurelia's at the age where she's hysterical without meaning to be. Here are a few examples:

Aurelia has learned a lot about Passover at school as you would expect. She's fixated with the part of Exodus where baby Moses is sent down the river to the Egyptian princess. Aurelia likes to act this story out by taking Big D and placing him in a bowler hat. She says Big D is Moses and she is Miriam and she's going to protect him so that Big D can save the Jewish people. I always knew he was special . . .

Then on a similar note, Aurelia was hysterical over something the other day and crying very hard. I asked her what was wrong. She said, "I'm so sad. I'm sad like the Jewish people." Wow! She's not just sad, she's biblically sad.

Aurelia loves being naked. She likes to take off all her clothes and run around saying "I'm nakey in the day date." We have no idea what that means, except that Aurelia finds it hysterical.

Lastly, Aurelia told Diana that she loved her so much that she never wanted to be away from her. Solution? "I'll put you in my pocket forever." Classic.

Aurelia's had a dry hacking cough for a week or so now. It wakes her up in the early, early morning. She's usually in our room by that point. A few nights ago I was giving her water and she said, "mama, I love you. someday when you have a cough, i'll bring you water."

such a sweet girl!

Aurelia is fully potty trained! She had a great 3 year check up with her doctor.

ok, i haven't been good about keeping up with our site this summer. oops -- david only owns the company. . .

so, we've moved. that's the big event of the past few months. the adoption is plodding along -- so this website will be called the magnificent viner girls. aurelia is larger than life; her personality is truly blossoming. she a joy to watch. i hope we capture some of her greatness in these photos and videos.

In case the trend is too subtle from the last few months of pictures, please know that Aurelia love princesses, specifically Snow White. She also prefers to wear a costume to "regular" clothes. In April we went to Disneyland and met Snow White. Aurelia, of course, was wearing her Snow White costume. Snow White told Aurelia that she liked her dress. A month later Aurelia will still say "i met Snow White. She like mine dress."

Oh Disney, why did we sell our stock in you?

Aurelia got a pair of rain boots last week. They're the only shoes she wants to wear. The first night we got them, she woke up crying and came out to find us. She was wearing her rain boots although she hadn't gone to bed that way. So, although she desperately wanted to find us, clearly putting her rain boots back on was her top priority.
